Oliva lies at the heart of Spain ’s orange growing region and on the southern tip of the Costa del Azahar. The long stretch of fine golden sand never gets crowded, even in high season. In the summer there are Chiringuito beach bars where you can eat and dance the night away. Just south of Oliva is the Oliva Nova Golf and Country Club, set just a few metres back from the beach with its own 18-hole golf course, designed by Seve Ballesteros and The Oliva Nautic Club offers moorage* to ships and boats as well as sailing courses
The remains of the ruined Moorish castle of Santa Ana overlooks the old town of Oliva with its maze of narrow winding cobbled streets, one, La Hoz, dates back to the 16C. Two beautiful blue domed churches ( Santa Maria and Sant Roc) can be found in this area.

Explore the town's back streets and learn about its rich Roman and Moorish past through the museums, churches and monuments which proliferate in the old Christian and Arab quarters. In Calle Santisimo in the town centre you can see the remains of a Roman kiln from the first century AD.
The archaeological museum, a 16th century former manorial home of historic and architectural interest houses exhibits from prehistory to the 16th century charting the region's connection with the Iberians, Romans and Moors. At the junction of Calle La Abadia and Calle Las Torres you'll find the 16th century tower which formed part of the old defence wall which once surrounded the town.
The main tree-lined paseo is host to the Friday morning market where locally produced fruit and vegetables are sold together with the usual stalls selling clothes, jewellery etc. Famous for its orange cultivation has made Oliva one of the important towns among the producers of citrus fruits in the Land of Valencia |
